Spend Saturday at The Honeywell’s Drag Brunch in Harlem

Our contributor Natalie Pattillo has already told you about the incredible community at Harlem bar The Honeywell: “In everything from the black-and-white TV playing old game shows to the vintage candy cigarettes accompanying the check, Honeywell’s spirit is nostalgic. Drinking booze here feels rebellious because the bar throws you back to when you were 17 and visiting your grandparents (except you can legally drink now). Unlike other cocktail bars I’ve visited in the city, nothing here feels pretentious or forced. While there, you get the sense that you’ve stumbled upon a neighborhood gem, and somehow, you’ve suddenly become a member of a cool, unrivaled club.”

If you’ve not made it there yet to experience their ’70s-style vibe, delicious cocktails and tasty menu of bar snacks, the best time to check it out might be this coming Saturday, January 13 for one of their infamous Drag Brunch extravaganzas that bring owner Lauren Brie Lynch’s RuPaul’s Drag Race viewings out of her home and into the bar.

For $40, you get a brunch, a series of shots, a welcome cocktail and performances by Rosé and Lagoona Bloo. What’s on the menu? Pork belly grits, eggs Benedict, a potato pancake breakfast sandwich, breakfast mac and cheese or an açai bowl. It all goes down from noon to 3 p.m., and you’re encouraged to get your tickets in advance to make sure you’re seated with your friends.

Sold? Get your tickets. And if you’re inspired to keep the party going once brunch is over, follow our uptown cocktail crawl.
