MoFAD is hosting a feast with a pig roast and “global celebratory food.”

Threes Brewing is hosting an Aloha New Years Eve featuring popup restaurant Dover & Battersby. They’re also expanding in the new year — look out for bottles and cans.

Humboldt & Jackson is hosting an extravaganza featuring pizza from Roberta’s and an open bar.

Jobs, Opportunities, Internships:

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is accepting applications for their horticulture internship through December 31.

A Growing Culture is building a food sovereignty library, and they’re hiring a part time communications + development assistant.

We love Brandworkers, the non-profit dedicated to factory workers’ rights. They’re hiring a Digital Community Manager and are looking for someone with experience in online organizing.

Manhattan’s first cat cafe is officially one year old, and they printed amazing “cattoos” to celebrate. You can’t buy Meow Parlour’s tats, but you can rent pets by the half hour by signing up online.

Dig Inn has released their answer to last year’s bone broth craze in the form of a no-bone broth, a vegetarian-friendly dish made with seaweed and juice pulp.

On January 12, join Food + Tech Meetup to discuss AgTech Innovation. Tickets run $25 and include admission and snacks.

David Chang’s delivery startup Maple is now offering Ample Hills ice cream for a limited time only, presumably because delivering hot meals got too easy.

Kiva, the global microlending platform, officially launched in NYC. Businesses like Jimmy’s No. 43 and B&H Dairy both used the site to raise funds following the East Village fire this year.

Join MoFAD and Slow Food to explore New York’s Ark of Taste on January 7. The event is followed by a pop-up farmers market.

Bantam Bagels is hosting the #BantamBitesHunger challenge — they’re donating $5 for every customer who completes their bagel hole-eating competition and $1 for all participants.
