More Door Prizes Announced for our Edible Escape Event on Wednesday: I Heart NY Booty and a Few Gallons of Organic Valley Milk

On Wednesday night at our Edible Escape at the Angel Orensanz Center there will be wine, spirits, cheeses and veggies from across the state. ILOVENY will be bringing some swanky farmers market totes and t-shirts to give away. And, to sweeten the pot, we will be giving away prizes to attendees. We’ve already told you about the mixed case of New York State wines, and some other lucky ticket holder will get two gallons of Organic Valley New York Fresh milk. In other words, something for the evening and something for the morning.

Cliff and Patti Brunner milk their 45 cows twice a day. The creamy crop is bound for Organic Valley’s New York Fresh line—and served with waffles and sausage at their on-site B&B.

Edible Escape is all about global flavors.

But it wouldn’t be an Edible Manhattan event without a big presence from the New York foodshed. Some of our finest travel destinations are right in our backyard, after all. Consider this B&B-cum-dairy we covered in the current issue, which is in striking distance of the Baseball Hall of Fame and Ommegang Brewery, for starters.

Among the New York food and drink makers representing will be the farmers of the Organic Valley family of farmers, with over 100 dairy farmers in the Empire State, whose milk, cheese and butter will be featured in the Cauliflower Gratin made by Chef Matthew Riznyk of Great Performances, wines from the Finger Lakes Wine Trail, including from Dr. Frank Konstantin Wine Cellars and Ravines Wine Cellars, paired with farmstead cheeses from that region’s Cheese Trail and Steuben County, New York. Long Island Wine Country and the Shawangunk Wine Trail will also be pouring.

In addition, the Hudson Valley’s own Tuthilltown Spirits will be mixing up an excellent, punchy concoction with Harney and Sons Tea. Our friends at Escapemaker.com and New York composting will also be representing. And tying it all together will be ILOVENY, which constantly reminds us that our state is literally jam-packed with food and drink destinations.
