Give Up the Dough for the City’s Best Bread

This bread needs a new home!

Speaking of giving, one of the coolest fundraising vehicles for small foodmakers we’ve seen in recent years is the site called Kickstarter, which allows little businesses to raise cash with micro-donations through a free site where you can give your spiel in video form: If you meet your fundraising goal, the charges go through. If you don’t, well, then your idea maybe isn’t valid, or you need to go back to the drawing board. One company we feel pretty sure about is SCRATCHBread, from one of our favorite bakers, Matt Tilden. Whose 100% hand-crafted with love-n-care rosemary sea salt scones and deeply delicious olive oil soaked focaccia you may know if you visit Grumpy coffee or the Brooklyn Flea. SCRATCH is trying to raise money to build out a shop in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, and one of our favorite food videographers, Liza De Guia of Food.Curated, put together a little video about their work for the fundraising efforts, which they’re cleverly calling D.O.U.G.H.
