Just in time for harvest season, Greenmarket and Edible magazines present the first annual Edible Eat • Drink • Local Week to celebrate the farmers, artisans and chefs who fill our bellies, green our region and enrich our lives.

All week long, partner restaurants in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and on the East End will showcase the mouthwatering bounty of local food and drink–as a prix fixe, a special entrée, a dessert, or a pairing with a wine, beer, or spirit made in New York State. At the end of the week, they will make voluntary contributions to Greenmarket, a program of the Council on the Environment of New York City, to benefit its Youth Education Project, which works to teach and nurture the eaters of tomorrow. You can help by dining out and digging in at one of these great eateries. Selected hotels, wine and beer bars, wine and spirits shops, culinary schools, tourism associations, environmental groups and other partner businesses are also offering promotions for the week, so check back with this handy map to see who is dishing up what, and to find out about events all week long.

We invite you to cook an extra meal with seasonal ingredients, take a friend to the Greenmarket, host a locavore feast at your home, and think more about the people behind your food.
