He’ll reveal secrets of the most rare and special brews around – those cult favorites that people go nuts to get their hands on – with Dan McGloughlin of Manhattan’s Pony Bar, Ed Berestecki of Brooklyn’s Mug’s Ale House and Dave Broderick of Manhattan’s Blind Tiger Ale House.
After the panel concludes, you’ll be drinking to a soundtrack of live music by mainstays of the Brooklyn Country music scene, The Flanks. Their barroom-friendly, original, lyric-driven music draws on old-time, jug band, pre-war blues, bluegrass and honky-tonk.
They’ll be pouring tastes of at least four different beers, with snacks from a few of the top Good Beer Seal bars in the city. Some lucky audience members will have a chance to taste selections from the panelists’ stashes of hard-to-get brews, too. Limited tasting beers may include bottles of The Alchemist’s Heady Topper IPA, Founders’ Kentucky Bourbon Stout,Ballast Point’s Sculpin IPA, as well as brews from Allagash, Three Floyds, Surly, Firestone Walker, and Green Flash.
