Event Navigation

Your host for the evening is Jimmy Carbone, owner of Jimmy’s 43, host of the internet radio show “Beer Sessions Radio” and co-founder of The Good Beer Seal.

He’ll reveal secrets of the most rare and special brews around – those cult favorites that people go nuts to get their hands on – with Dan McGloughlin of Manhattan’s Pony BarEd Berestecki of Brooklyn’s Mug’s Ale House and Dave Broderick of Manhattan’s Blind Tiger Ale House.

After the panel concludes, you’ll be drinking to a soundtrack of live music by mainstays of the Brooklyn Country music scene, The Flanks. Their barroom-friendly, original, lyric-driven music draws on old-time, jug band, pre-war blues, bluegrass and honky-tonk.

They’ll be pouring tastes of at least four different beers, with snacks from a few of the top Good Beer Seal bars in the city. Some lucky audience members will have a chance to taste selections from the panelists’ stashes of hard-to-get brews, too. Limited tasting beers may include bottles of The Alchemist’s Heady Topper IPAFounders’ Kentucky Bourbon Stout,Ballast Point’s Sculpin IPA, as well as brews from AllagashThree FloydsSurlyFirestone Walker, and Green Flash.
