Join Murray’s Cheese for a weekend full of cheese, gorgeous Green Mountain scenery, and incredible food. The weekend (Edible Manhattan went last year and loved it! — ed.) kicks off with a visit and farm tour with our friends (both human and cow) at Spring Brook Farm, makers of Tarentaise and Raclette- if we’re lucky we’ll catch the cheesemakers in the action cutting the curd! From there head to our hotel to freshen up before a farm-fresh local dinner at Bluebird Tavern, where we’ll be joined by American cheese pioneer and co-founder of Vermont Butter and Cheese Creamery, Allison Hooper. All this before we make it to the main attraction on Sunday: the Vermont Cheesemakers Festival at Shelburne Farm, where we’ll hang out with dozens of cheesemakers, brewers, vintners, and food artisans. Pet a sheep or two, have a glass of Vermont ice cider, and stuff yourself full of outstanding cheese before heading back to the Big Apple on Sunday evening.
The trip runs July 23 and 24th and is $399. Plus you get 25 percent off with the code 11VERMONT if you purchase by next Tuesday. It includes a sack lunch and dinner on Saturday, transportation, accommodations, and entry to the festival. Price is per person based on double occupancy. If you are interested in single occupancy, please purchase your ticket and contact the Classroom Coordinator at [email protected] to reserve a single room. Single occupancy is an additional $60 charge.
