From our organizers:
Mayanoki, New York’s first and only sustainable sushi omakase, and Brooklyn Kura, New York’s first and only sake brewery, will be joining forces for a very special culinary experience on Saturday July 28: a pairing dinner with 14 courses of sustainable sushi from Sushi Chef Jeff Miller and 7 locally made sakes. Brian Polen, co-founder of Brooklyn Kura, will be pouring the brewery’s signature offerings, plus tap room exclusives and sakes at various points during the fermentation process.
Mayanoki and Brooklyn Kura are both inspired by Japanese tradition, but also passionate about creating a truly American experience using time-honored techniques and locally sourced ingredients. Mayanoki sources their fish locally and sustainably from trusted purveyors – and uses fresh wasabi from Oregon, rice grown in California, soy sauce aged in Kentucky, and exclusively sustainably farmed and wild caught seasonal species. Each course will be paired with Brooklyn Kura’s American craft sake, which is produced on-site at their Industry City brewery using American-grown rice, koji, New York water and yeast.
There will be 2 seatings at 6:30pm and 9pm on July 28. Dinner is $200 inclusive of sake, tax and gratuity. Tickets are available through RESY.
