Celebrating the intersection of art and agriculture, Art of the Heirloom showcases the 26 original works commissioned by the Hudson Valley Seed Library for their annual Art Pack collection. The exhibition features works in a variety of styles, including: playful illustrations of Champion Collards (Jeff Carmagna) and Cocozelle Zucchini (Will Sweeney); Jessica Pollak’s fantastical gouache of Panther Edamame; a surreal, dreamlike landscape with Teddy Bear Sunflowers by Kahn & Selesnick; Jesica Clark’s graphic woodcut of King of the North Pepper; and Gabe Brown’s abstract interpretation of Echinacea. These imaginative interpretations are only a few examples of how the artists in the show have captured the character and diversity of the Seed Library’s evocatively-named heirloom seed varieties.

A selection of Art Packs, including all those featured in the show, and fine art prints will be on sale at The Hort throughout the exhibition and into the spring.
