Eat Drink Local Challenge at the Knitting Factory: The Brooklyn Edition

Event Navigation

If you can’t make our Festival of the 11 Ingredients at Chelsea Market, or you never leave the borough of Kings, then we welcome you to show us what you got at the Knitting Factory (the one on Metropolitan Ave. in Brooklyn), Oct 7th, 7 to 9 p.m. with judging at 830.

What are we judging? Well, you, of course–and your devotion to the mission of Eat Drink Local.

Come and munch and drink with like-minded food enthusiasts, and submit your entry for our Eat Drink Local Challenge. Whether you conquer a dozen of these do’s or just one, tell us all about it at this end-of-week party. Bring evidence of your efforts, be that a picture of you at an upstate orchard, the limerick that trip inspired, or a pie you baked from the Braeburn booty. Edible editors will bestow prizes aplenty—may the best eaters win!

And for more inspiration, from Sept. 26-Oct. 6, Edible is highlighting these 11 ingredients (one for each day) in an effort to boost their market in New York. Think of it like an ingredients-mob:

Sunday: Clams
Monday: Whole grains
Tuesday: Brown ales & lagers
Wednesday: Duck
Thursday: Concord grapes
Friday: Rose & Riesling
Saturday: Cauliflower
Sunday: Farm stand cocktails
Monday: Squash
Tuesday: Dairy
Wednesday: Apple cider
