Join us May 11-14, 2019, for the 6th National Cultivating Community Composting Forum, the only national gathering of community composters. This event will bring together community composters (and those who love them) to network, share best practices, and build support for community-scale composting systems and enterprises.
We will once again feature last year’s popular “Hacks & Innovations” session, where attendees share tips in 90 seconds or less. Also offered again: the composter-to-composter “chat” sessions where you can enjoy peer-to-peer problem-solving and brainstorming on select topics of interest (outreach and communications, measuring and metrics, financing, best management practices, and more), talk about what works and what doesn’t, while learning new ideas and strategizing future priorities for the movement.
NEW THIS YEAR:
- First time offering training, tours, and forum as a stand-alone event for community composters!
- Full-day Saturday training and field day! The training and field day will be held at Earth Matter, Governors Island, NYC, and will feature three training options.
- Full-day of community compost site tours! Choose among three different tours: bike, walking, and bus! (Registration coming soon.)
- Two days of panels!
- More opportunities to network
- Travel scholarships are offered to up to 60 community composters to offset accommodations at the HI NYC Hostel (see below for how to qualify).
- Lower registration fees ($200 less!)
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HOSTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:
This year our scholarship fund is strictly covering up to 60 community composters to stay at the HI NYC Hostel for up to four nights. Breakfast is included on Monday and Tuesday.
