Party at Roberta's!

The pizzeria, we mean. On Tuesday night Roberta’s–featured on the cover of the current issue of Edible Brooklyn–is throwing a can’t-miss feast (we can only hope for their fried chicken, which we were lucky enough to have had for dinner last night) featuring wine guy Joe Bastianich and Del Posto chef Mark Ladner, as well as other famous foodies and farmers.

It’s a fund-raiser to break ground on a one-acre sustainable rooftop farm in north Brooklyn, with help from Ben Flanner of Greenpoint’s Rooftop Farm, who were featured in our summer issue. Roberta’s hopes the farm will sustain itself through community sales of its truly Brooklyn-grown produce, about as environmentally and sustainable a model as you can get. It’s one they hope to replicate around the city, too, once this first farm gets off the ground–literally. Here’s the deets: Roberta’s Farm Benefit Party;  October 13;  7:00 pm; 261 Moore Street at Bogart. Get your tickets here.
