You may have visited Charleston during the summer when the air hangs heavy like Spanish moss and the beaches are lined with visitors flocking to the city to soak up the sun. However, the spring offers a new set of opportunities for visitors and locals alike. Due largely in part to beautiful weather and city-wide events, visitors are now making the pilgrimage to the Holy City in March.
This March marks the 15th anniversary of the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. Highly regarded across the country as one of the best wine and food festivals, Charleston Wine + Food fuses homegrown flavor with chefs, winemakers, beverage professionals, musicians, artisans and experts from around the globe for five flavorful days.
Tickets are officially on sale for the festival taking place March 4–8, 2020, and although the uber popular festival tends to sell out fast, there are still several event options you can snag to feed your appetite.
New to the festival lineup this year, Charleston Wine + Food is transforming Holy City Brewing into a multi-night international market. Take your taste buds on a culinary world tour as you weave your way through food stalls and exciting experiences from all corners of the earth. Dance to live bands + DJ beats as you sip on wines, craft brews and cocktails inspired by the flavors of a far off destination. Leave your passport at home and travel freely through this multicultural feast.
Class is in session! Grab your backpacks and get ready to head back to school for an evening that is as tasty as it is educational. With bites and sips inspired by cafeteria classics and room for you to cut a rug, this one is sure to be an A+.
From worldly wine workshops to spirited sessions from the industry’s top bar talent, if you’ve never attended a beverage seminar, you need to add it to your list! Beverage workshops offer intimate and educational classes where you’ll learn one-on-one from celebrated winemakers, brewmasters and mixologists.
Cans + Kegs
Pop cans, not bottles! Charleston Wine + Food is debunking the myth that wine in cans + kegs can’t compete with their bottled brethren. This is an experience as poppin’ as the bottles you’ll leave at home. Complete with delicious bites and views worth ’gramming, this event won’t tap out on fun.
