From pushcart pickles and Jewish knishes to Russian tea parlors with blintzes and strudel, food writer and cooking teacher Jane Ziegelman will present the stories and lives of five immigrant families through the food they prepared. ┬áThe families were all residents of 97 Orchard Street, which is now the site of the New York Tenement Museum, where Ziegelman is the director of the forthcoming culinary program.
