On Monday October 4th from 6-9 p.m., NYC food destination Chelsea Market will overflow with the 11 ingredients of Eat Drink Local. (See the list below.) Market vendors–from the Green Table to Friedman’s Lunch, from Lucy’s Whey to Fat Witch Bakery–will ply the eating public with samples, supplemented by beer from Kelso of Brooklyn, rose and riesling from Hermann J. Wiemer vineyards in the Finger Lakes, merlot from Bedell Cellars on Long Island, and LiV vodka (mixed into Concord grape juice courtesy of Peoples Pops), while 200 lucky attendees will party with Edible in the market’s private event space.
Tickets to the private tasting are $25 and can be purchased below.
This party is also the best place to submit your entry for our Eat Drink Local Challenge. Whether you conquer a dozen of these do’s or just one, tell us all about it at this end-of-week party. Bring evidence of your efforts, be that a picture of you at an upstate orchard, the limerick that trip inspired, or a pie you baked from the Braeburn booty. Edible editors will bestow prizes aplenty—may the best eaters win!
From Sept. 26-Oct. 6, Edible is highlighting these 11 ingredients (one for each day) in an effort to boost their market in New York. Think of it like an ingredients-mob:
Monday: Whole grains
Tuesday: Brown ales & lagers
Thursday: Concord grapes
Friday: Rose & Riesling
Sunday: Farm stand cocktails
Wednesday: Apple cider
